Last weekend I kicked off my busiest season to date for tara d photography. The holiday rush has begun! What better way to kick it off then with this gorgeous family! We met up at one of Arizona’s many fine golf courses. How I love golf courses- water, lush grass and afternoon sunlight. Add in this loving family of four and it really couldn’t get much better!
Check out these stunning eyelashes!

He was so sweet with his little sister! I love these next two shots!

Thank you Calvin Family for choosing me to take your family photo’s this year! It was a pleasure meeting you.
The Vincent’s have become good friends of ours this past year. Cari is a busy mom to three boys, I to four kids, and we met a year ago in this busy season of life. Cari and I have this thing called “pastor’s wife” in common. It’s one of those things that even though we don’t get a ton of time to hang out together just as friends, we are friends. PW’s stick together and can relate to the high demands of life that comes with being married to a pastor. I have been grateful to have Cari as a friend, someone to talk to about ministry life and I have enjoyed getting to know her this year. She is SO full of joy and her smile LIGHTS up a room. As you will see in full display in the pictures of her.
I snapped a few of them a couple months ago before baby Jack was born…
Her boys are super adorable and “full of life” to say the least!! Cari is one busy mama
With the addition of baby Jack, I knew they would want some updated photos of their family at some point. But I never expected it like this. Not under these circumstances. A week before these next set of pictures were taken, I got a text from Cari saying “It’s cancer.” Yes, in a matter of one week she went from suspicion to confirmation. My friend is now fighting breast cancer.
WHAT?!?!” My heart cried out. How does a young mom, with three little boys get breast cancer? I asked her if there was anything I could do for her. Her response, “Can we get some family pictures before my hair falls out?” Done.
These pictures have ended up becoming some of my favorite work to date and I know that it’s not because of my work or ability. It’s because what’s on display in these pictures is a family, truly grateful to God, to be a family. A mom loving her kids with more love then she even knew possible and a husband and wife who are grateful to be married and in each other’s arms. There is nothing to be taken for granted here. What is on display is a family who is smiling, laughing, full of hope in a great God who can heal and promises to bring good out of ALL things. Including cancer. Cancer can not and has not robbed them of their joy in God. Oh what a beautiful sight this is.
Cari’s parents were on the first flight out upon hearing their daughter’s news and will be here for an unforeseen amount of time to help out.
*special thanks to my friend Megan who came and assisted in the photo shoot. She caught this awesome shot of the boys!

Cari I pray daily for God to heal you and to give you the strength you need for this journey. Thank you for your faith and joy that is so evidently on display as you walk through this trial. You are an example and inspiration to all who know you.
Friends please join me in praying for this dear family! Thank you!
I was so excited to take these extended family pictures! Joel & Deb, the parents, have become dear friends of my husband and I. Even though I’m only a little older then their daughter.

They are a lot of fun!
Here is their beautiful family.

One would have no idea ALL that this family has had to walk through this year. Health problems, a sick grandpa/dad, more health problems and then there is this precious baby.

Poor girl has walked through more in her one year of life then most will in their entire. Just this week she had a lung biopsy. Being a few days older then my own baby I have shed many tears for this precious girl as they try to figure out what is going on in her little body. Still remains a mystery. But what is not a mystery is that God has sustained her little life again and again.
She is the cutest sweet pea of the family. I think they would all agree ![]()

I just heard that they are expecting!!! So excited for you guys. So there is one in these pictures that we didn’t even know about.

I hope you guys enjoyed your time together. We sure enjoyed meeting you. Look forward to future family sessions with the new additions that the Lord adds to your family
Alex is four. Alex, I think, can do no wrong as long as he keeps these big brown eyes around. I think they might have saved him a time or two
Oh man and if only I could play a clip of his sweet, little voice for you too! The pictures are plenty convincing in and of themselves.
So I asked his mom what Alex is loving these days. What would help bring “Alex” at four into the pictures? Here is what she brought…

What can she say. The kids loves candy. And a kid, as sweet and perfect as this, probably gets a lot of candy ![]()

All I know is if I had brought candy to a session and dumped some out in front of my kids it would’ve been devoured in seconds. Here he is carefully thinking about what candy is his favorite. Hard choice.
Apparently peacocks like candy too…. WHAT THE HECK?!?!

She takes her role as big sister VERY seriously…
Ain’t no bug touching her brother!
What a fun time I had with this little guy. Thank you Kim for asking me to capture your precious boy at four! It was my joy!
I met up with Q & M last weekend in Gilbert to take some engagement pictures. Our family has been friends with Mallory’s for quite some time now and we couldn’t be more thrilled for her. Q & Mallory are both in the United States Navy. Thank you to both of you for your service to our country!!
Now off to being cute and engaged!

I joked with Q that he has one look for the camera… but he does it well don’t ya think?

I love this one of you Mallory! You look so happy and this pictures just reminds me of your mom and all your sisters ![]()

It was great meeting up with you guys! I wish the best in your upcoming marriage!
It’s hard to believe that just a few short months ago I had no idea who James or Jamaila was. In the beginning of June we welcomed Jamaila into our home. She was dating this guy James and flew in from Dubai to spend some the summer in AZ. Through a mutual friend we all have, we were approached about considering letting her live with us for a month. She sounded safe enough so we said yes
Oh man Jamaila and I had some serious fun this summer! What a privilege it was to get to know these two awesome and see them go from dating to engaged! YAY!!
Before Jamaila headed back to Dubai we went out to take some engagement pictures.
First off Jamaila… beautiful gorgeous Jamaila.
James you ain’t so bad yourself but let’s face it Jamaila makes you look even better. Smart guy in asking for her hand ![]()

Ah young love… and they are really, really, young. I have to say that because Jamaila would often point out how OLD I was! HA!

Jamaila has the most infectious laugh! Even if you weren’t sure what was funny you’d be laughing right along with her! I jokingly said to James during our session that life with Jamaila will never be boring.

Our family misses you guys! We look forward to seeing you again Jamaila in the winter and of course we can’t wait to see you all get married!
I was so excited when Camille asked me to take their family photo’s! This family is absolutely beautiful inside and out.
One might wonder who in their right mind would brave the AZ heat in June. It was a HOT night too. Well in large part it’s because this little guy just turned one and we couldn’t let him get to much older.
Don’t you just love his curls!

And boy does he love playing with balls. That was our secret trick to get him to smile ![]()

His two older brothers are so bad themselves!
And really these kids should be stinkin’ cute…. just take a look at their parents…

gorgeous.
I could’ve done a whole session with just the two of them!

Just a few more…
Well guys I hope you love your new photo’s! More are coming your way. Thank you again for asking me to capture this moment in time of your family. It was truly an honor!
